For the first time the media showed what was really going on which gave the public the choice on how to portray the war. In order to win a war, you have to have a military victory as well as winning with the public at home. The media has the ability to manipulate the truth and during the war it showed the truth that the government wanted to hide. This caused controversies, misunderstanding, and the lack of unified support for the US government.
